How to setup prefill message with wa.me link for my WhatsApp number?

WhatsApp's wa.me link allows you start a chat with someone without having their phone number saved in your phone's address book. Every WhatsApp is assigned to a unique URL look like this: https://wa.me/{CountryCode}{YourWhatsAppNumber}. e.g. https://wa.me/85268227287

This short link will redirect your users to your WhatsApp chatbot immediately, so you can place this short link or generate a QR code for various platforms or advertising channels.

You can also add a parameter "text" at the end to specify the flow of this URL, e.g. https://wa.me/85268227287?text=Menu. A keyword "Menu" will be prefilled for users to enter the assigned flow when they are directed to WhatsApp.




  1. Click “+ New Trigger”

  2. Select Keyword in the Basic Tab

  3. Fill in the keyword

  4. Click Save when everything is done 

  5. Set up this trigger in the global node 

  6. Toggle on redirect to a tree node for response

  7. Enable the global node in Channel


You should set up different keywords for different incoming sources so you can evaluate the performance across sources by the keyword.
