What access right needed to install Teams Inbox?

In order to install Stella Teams Inbox and enjoy its service, it must first be installed on Microsoft Teams and setup following the setup guide. 

 

The setup flow will generally go accordingly: 


‣ App Installation 
‣ Bot Setup  
‣ Stella OAUTH  
‣ Live Chat Channel Setup  
‣ Dashboard  

 
After the installation package has been downloaded, upload it to MS Teams.  

There are 3 possible ways to upload the app to MS Teams. 

 

‣ Sideloading 
‣ App Upload by Teams Admin  
‣ App Upload by Normal User

Sideloading 

 
Teams App sideloading installs the application to specific MS Teams team directly. 
 

Privilege Required: 
‣ Upload custom apps (Teams apps > Setup policies > (policy) > Upload custom apps) 

  

Steps: 

  1. 1. Open “Manage Team” in MS Teams in the desired team to install the bot 

 


  2. 2. Click “Upload a customised app” and choose the Teams App package downloaded.

  2. 3. Click “Add” to add the app to the desired team.


 

 


  2. 4. Type @<Bot Name> in any channel of the team to proceed with Inbox Bot First Setup. 

 

 

 

 

App Upload by Teams Admin  

 

Upload to organization allows users in MS Teams to install the app to any team by themselves. However, Teams admin approval is required to submit the app to the organization’s Teams App Store directly.  

 
 

Privilege Required: 

‣ Teams Administrator / Application A+dministrator / Application Developer (Microsoft 365 Admin Center)  

 
 

Steps: 


  2. 1. Open “App” in MS Teams, click “Manage your apps” >> “Publish an app” and choose “Upload an app to your org’s app catalogue” 


 

 

  1. 2. Choose the Teams App package downloaded and upload it to Teams 

 

  1. 3. The app shall be available in the App Store in “Built for your org” 

 

  1. 4. Go to the team you want the app to be installed. Open “Manage team”, and go to “Apps” tab. Choose “More apps” and select the application under section “Built for your org”.  

 

 

 

  1. 5. Click “Add to a team” to install the app, the current team shall be selected automatically by MS Teams for you. 

 

  1. 6. Type @<Bot Name> in any channel of the team to proceed with Inbox Bot First Setup. 

 

 

 

 

 

App Upload by Normal User 

 
Upload to organization allows users in MS Teams to install the app to any team by themselves. However, Teams admin approval is required to submit the app to the organization’s Teams App Store directly.  

 

Privilege Required: 

‣ Submit the app to organization’s catalog and wait for approval from their IT admin.  

 

Steps: 

    1. 1. Open “App” in MS Teams, click “Manage your apps”, “Publish an app” and choose “Submit an app to your org”  


     

     

    1. 2. Choose the Teams App package downloaded and upload it to Teams. And wait for your Teams IT Admin to approve the app.


    3. 3. The app shall be available in the App Store, in “Built for your org” after your Teams IT Admin has approved the app.  


    5. 4. Go to the team you want the app to be installed. Open “Manage team”, and go to “Apps” tab. Choose “More apps” and select the application under section “Built for your org”.
